Upcoming Adventures…
Come experience the Northern Lights and explore the land of fire and ice! We’re focusing on mindfulness on this trip and will be incorporating both scheduled and spur of the moment yoga classes led by BeBhakti Yoga’s Lauren Magarelli, that take advantage of the spectacular scenery. Each day will expose you to a new aspect of adventure and culture in Iceland. From riding an Icelandic Horse in the shadow of a volcano, speeding through old lava fields like the astronauts of the Apollo program, hiking to view an active eruption, or exploring a tunnel created by flowing lava, this unique adventure will have you telling stories for years to come!
We know that viewing the Northern Lights is on most people's bucket lists so we've planned this trip to provide an opportunity to enjoy this truly magical display nearly every night of our trip. Long nights and short days, combined with a location in the high northern latitudes, provide ideal conditions for taking in the Northern Lights. In fact Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital city! Worried about the cold? Don't be, in fact NYC and Boston experience colder winters than Reykjavik, plus you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy geothermal pools and hot springs on this adventure.
We'll meet you at Keflavik Airport on the morning of your arrival and then take you directly to the the heavenly mineral waters of the Blue Lagoon Spa. The comfort package we provide offers you a towel rental, free drink from the poolside bar, and all the silica mud you can apply. There's simply no better way to overcome jet lag!
After our morning of bathing in the warm geothermal waters we'll head to Reykjavik for a nice lunch before checking into our hotel. We'll leave you alone for a few hours to rest and then meet up in the early evening for a walking tour of Reykjavik. We’ll then check out the view from the Hallgrímskirkja, which you'll know how to pronounce by the end of the day, as well as the settlement museum which is centered around an excavation of a Viking longhouse and is a great way to get introduced to the history of Iceland's founding as told through archaeology and the Íslendingasögur, or Sagas of Icelanders.dinner at one of the city's many fine restaurants.
Day two of our adventure begins with an ATV tour where you’ll journey through the same lava fields along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that attracted NASA and the Astronauts of the Apollo Program in preparation for the moon landing. After free time to rest or explore the shops of Laugavegur Street we’ll head out that evening for a private Northern Lights Safari with an expert local guide.
We'll depart Reykjavik on the morning of Day three and begin our journey on the famous "Golden Circle" with visits to Geysir (the first Geyser known to modern Europeans), Gulfoss ("Golden Falls"), and Þingvellir ("Assembly Fields") which is not only the the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that separates the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, it also marks the location where the Icelandic Parliament met through the end of the 18th century. For lunch we’ve arranged for a tour of a geothermally heated/powered greenhouse that grows some of the most delicious tomatoes you've ever tasted. You'll have the opportunity to sample the local produce when you dine on Tomato Soup served on a buffet with sour cream, home baked bread, cucumber salsa, butter and fresh herbs.
Day four begins with a horseback ride through the valleys and lava fields surrounding the town of Hveragerði, followed by an optional hike into a magnificent geothermal valley. Passing waterfalls and hot springs, we may even have time to bathe in the warm waters if conditions allow. The Icelandic horses are known for their friendly demeanor and ease of handling, as well as their fifth gait, so no prior experience is necessary to enjoy this adventure. After a light lunch of homemade soup, bread, coffee, and cake, we'll head over to a nearby lava tunnel, a truly unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption as one walks in the path of lava that flowed about 5200 years ago. Every winter spectacular ice sculptures are formed inside the entrance of the cave making the experience of visiting the lava tunnel even more breathtaking.
Most flights back to the States depart in the evening so you'll have time to enjoy more of Reykjavik on day 5 before departing for the airport. We know that you'll be leaving with new friends and great stories to tell for years to come.

Since you were young you’ve been dreaming of exploring the Faroe Islands! Just kidding, you’re probably trying to figure out where they are right now. To answer that question, East of Iceland and North of Scotland. Now you’re thinking, okay, but why go? The answer is that they are a group of 18 islands with a rich history and stunning landscapes that combine to create an idyllic Scandinavian environment to explore. Tired of the crowds in Iceland? With just over 50,000 residents and only a few hundred hotel rooms, the Faroes are far from overrun and since you’re never farther than 3 miles from the ocean you’re almost guaranteed constant scenic beauty.
The Faroes feature picture perfect landscapes, welcoming locals, and a rich culture that has developed since the Vikings arrived in the 9th century. With fishing making up the largest industry in the islands, and with sheep outnumbering humans, all the ingredients are there for a new generation of innovative chefs that have put the Faroe Islands on the map as a culinary destination featuring classic local dishes as well as New Nordic approaches that highlight local ingredients.
As a culinary adventure we’ll be combining hikes and day trips that boast storybook scenery, with meals at the best restaurants in the islands, including local favorites where you’ll enjoy fresh seafood, lamb, and local vegetables as well as a brewery tour and tasting. Forget “farm to table”, we’ll visit a local family where the husband and wife that run the farm will prepare dinner for us in their home while we are entertained by local musicians.
We love to eat well but also enjoy getting out into nature and burning some calories, so we’ll also take you hiking on an island that is largely set aside for Puffins and the rest of the 110 species of birds that inhabit the islands.
You’ll travel to the island of Kalsoy where you’ll learn about the legend of the Kópakonan (Seal Woman), now represented by an impressive statue in the surf alongside the village of Mikladalur, before hiking up to a seaside promontory that offers sweeping views of the ocean and islands alongside the famous Kallur lighthouse. On the way back we’ll stop by the local brewery for a tour/tasting.
This hidden gem is becoming more popular each year with more and more stories appearing in magazines and online so join us in the Faroes this year before the crowds arrive and check a lifetime experience off your list!

COME EXPLORE THE HOME OF SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN, THE BIRTHPLACE OF HYGGE, AND ONE OF THE MOST BIKE FRIENDLY COUNTRIES ON THE PLANET.
Our adventure begins in Copenhagen where you’ll explore the canals, dine on world class cuisine, and join a guided bike tour of the city’s highlights. Take the time to visit one of Copenhagen’s world class museums, enjoy the thrills of one of the world’s oldest amusement parks, or shop on one of the longest pedestrian-only streets in the world.
Next we travel by train to the historic city of Aarhus which was founded in the early Viking Age and is well known for its art and architecture. We’ll visit the ARoS Art Museum, get a private bike tour of the city, walk the streets of the restoration village of Den Gamle By, and enjoy drinks at the rooftop lounge of the Salling department store.
Continuing westward we journey to the coast of Jutland and the North Sea. We’ll spend the next two days cycling on e-bikes along the coast through quaint villages and pastoral landscapes. We’ll stay in comfortable boutique hotels and have our luggage transported by van between stays. Don’t worry, we keep the mileage to between 20-30 per day so we have plenty of time to stop at the beach, chat with locals, and enjoy some great meals.
After reaching the beach resort town of Nørre Vorupør we’ll relax for the night and travel back to Copenhagen the following day for another night in the Danish capital. Some will choose to fly home the next day while others will take advantage of Copenhagen’s convenient location and add on a tour of Norway, Sweden, Germany, or The Netherlands.
This adventure is family friendly and a great way to see the beauty of this Scandinavian treasure.

Each day will expose you to a new aspect of adventure and culture in Iceland.
From riding an Icelandic Horse in the shadow of a volcano, speeding through old lava fields on an ATV like the astronauts of the Apollo program, exploring a lava tunnel created over 5,000 years ago, or hiking up a mountain to bathe in a geothermal stream, this five-day adventure will have you telling stories for years to come!
No tents on this trip! We’ll be staying at luxurious hotels both while in Reykjavik and when we’re out in the countryside.
We’ve been leading trips to Iceland since 2013 and this trip is designed to show you some of our favorite places as well as some ‘must see’ highlights. Each day is a new adventure but we make sure you have some down time as well.

Leave the crowds behind and let us lead you on a unique adventure in Iceland’s remote Northern interior. This trip is designed for adventurers that have already visited Reykjavik and the South Coast but want to explore a more remote area of this breathtakingly beautiful island.
Your journey really begins as you arrive in the village of Husavik and enjoy the relaxing waters of the ultimate geothermal infinity pool right alongside the ocean. While in Husavik we’ll literally set sail as we cast off on an old schooner to visit both the local Puffin colony and if we’re lucky, Humpback whales passing through the nearby waters.
We’re headed deep into Iceland’s interior but first we’ll stop and enjoy Lake Myvatn, taking in scenic canyons and waterfalls along the way. This will be our launching off point, just as it was for the astronauts of the Apollo program when they left to train in the area we’ll be exploring. All puns intended!
As we load into our 4WD and leave the paved roads of the coast, our first stop is Herðubreið (Her-du-brey), Iceland’s national mountain. The journey continues as we cross streams and traverse the landscape to reach our mountain hut. We’ll get a hike in before enjoying a hot, delicious, backcountry gourmet meal.
After a hot breakfast and a hotter shower, we’ll leave the mountain hut for a hike over the mountains to the Askja crater and its smaller neighbor Viti. Viti contains a geothermally fed lake that is cooled off to hot tub temperatures by the glacial waters of neighboring Aksja. This is a truly unique experience, swimming in a volcano in the middle of Iceland with no buildings around, only nature’s beauty. We’ll enjoy a lazy afternoon at the lake before hiking back to our geothermally heated hut for a hot meal and a good night’s rest.
Returning to Myvatn, we’ll soak in the Nature Baths, hike around a volcanic crater, and tour geothermal mud flats before returning to Reykjavik the next day. On the way to the airport we’ll make a stop to take in the beauty of Godafoss waterfalls.
If you’re looking for a unique adventure that gets you away from the crowds of Reykjavik without carrying a heavy pack then this is the trip you’ve been searching for.

Rising out of the ocean as a high point of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland is among the newest lands on Earth. While we start and end our trip in Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital city, the trekking portion of our adventure is the true highlight. You'll search for words to describe the beauty you experience as you pass geothermal steam vents, gaze into deep river gorges, cross glacial streams, and journey through volcanic rock formations.
In Reykjavik you'll have the opportunity to go on a puffin watching cruise, check out the local art and culture, explore Iceland's Viking past, dine on the catch of the day, and of course, explore Reykjavik's famous nightlife. Our stay in Reykjavik also includes a day trip to some of the nearby natural wonders including the famous Geysir (the first Geyser known to modern Europeans). We'll then head East, into the interior highlands to begin the world famous Laugavegur Trek, a "bucket list" trek that is listed by National Geographic as one of the "World's Best Hikes".
Though we’re on a multi-day adventure you only need to carry a day pack as we’ll be transporting your luggage between huts. Sleeping bags and trekking poles are provided for your use and we even do all of the cooking for you so all you have to do is enjoy the beauty of the Iceland Highlands. Don’t miss out on this bucket list adventure!

AWAKEN THE EXPLORER WITHIN and join us as we journey north of the Arctic Circle for what will truly be the adventure of a lifetime! Despite being the largest non-continental island, with an area larger than Mexico, Greenland is the least densely populated country on the planet, and although 81% of the land is covered in ice, the remaining land has supported the Inuit population for over 4,500 years.
The trip begins as you fly into an old U.S. Air Force base, a relic of the Cold War, and now Greenland's international airport. After a short connecting flight we’ll arrive in the the coastal town of Sisimiut.
To start our adventure off right we'll leave Sisimiut by boat before transferring to a landing craft to begin the backpacking portion of our expedition. Keep an eye out for whales as we cruise through the fjord!
For five days and four nights we'll then cross the Arctic tundra as we follow the southern route of the Arctic Circle Trail to the west coast of Greenland. Along the way you'll cross pristine streams, press on through scrub birch and willow thickets, pass through valleys brimming with the colors of the Arctic, and have countless opportunities to view Reindeer, Arctic Hare, and maybe even Musk Oxen, or an Arctic Fox.
Mid-way through our trek we’ll spend the night in the small fishing village of Sarfannguit where you’ll have to opportunity to meet the locals and check out the newly installed Qaammat Pavilion, winner of the 2022 International Architecture Award.
You'll feel immense pride as you walk into the beautiful coastal town of Sisimiut for a well-deserved warm meal and a good night's sleep. Over several days in Sisimiut, an area that has been inhabited for at least 4,500 years, you'll learn about Greenlandic culture and sample some native dishes. We'll check out the Sisimiut Museum, meet local artisans at their workshop, and even have a get together with an extended family of Inuit hunters who have been friends of ours for nearly a decade.
This trip can easily be combined with a longer trip to Europe either before or after our journey. If you sign up for both our Trekking Adventure and our Ilulissat based Arctic Adventure we will throw in overnight coastal ferry transfer for free. How about checking Greenland off of your bucket list and joining the ranks of those that have explored the Arctic.

After a day in the picturesque port city of Bergen, where you can tour the Bryggen UNESCO World Heritage Site, sample the daily catch at the Torget Fish Market, or learn about Scandinavian art and culture at the KODE Museums, we'll head east along the fjords to Jotunheimen ("Home of the Giants").
Over four days and nights we'll lead you on an adventure through the awe inspiring landscape of central Norway's high peaks. The landscape changes daily and on this portion of the trip we'll journey through snowy peaks, along glacial lakes, through lush valleys, and even take in spectacular waterfalls. No tent needed on this hike! Instead we'll be staying in huts located along the route that feature beds and wood burning stoves. Some of the huts we'll stay at even come complete with a restaurant and bar! This adventure is perfect for someone who wants to experience a true mountain adventure without carrying a heavy pack (less than 10 lbs).
After completing our mountain journey, we'll head to a beautiful 19th century hotel situated along Sognefjord. From the comfort of this historic hotel, operated by the same family for five generations, you'll have the opportunity to rent a kayak or bike, go for a day hike, or just relax and enjoy the scenery before we board a ferry for the trip back to Bergen where we will complete our journey.
The trekking portion is hut based so this is perfect for someone looking for a multi-day adventure without a heavy pack.
